I interested with information from South east Asia HIV program especailly dealing with a nation with majority of population who are Chatolic and it is using a way of fidelity and abstenance and it helped reduce the number of HIV/Aids desease in the Country. please tell me more about individual character change, family and comunity. What I understood is very diffucult to reduce the number of HIV/ Aids desease in Chatolic Country such as in Philipine. I look forward to hearing from you very soon

I appreciate Ms Corporal’s report on the session on media and AIDS that I chaired. Actually what happened to the media in the USA, Europe, and Australia –I call it as “media fatique”– has happened among media in South East Asia countries. Thailand press in 2004 has reported this phenomenon, while in a country like Indonesia it seems it occurs too these days. But there is a time lag, like the ripening epidemic itself Thailand is ahead 5-10 years from Indonesia.

Concerning on reporting AIDS epidemic with human face has been trained to hundred of journalists in Indonesia since 1994, which I called as “Compassionate journalism”. With the progress of ART, now it evolves to become “Journalism of hope”. Reporting statistics and sensational/scary stories about AIDS are past time — for more senior journalist and quality media, because it is the time for implementing “Journalism of Meaning” rather than “Journalism of Facts” (4 W) which often lack of Why + How.
